TECHNICAL TRAINING:

You will learn foundational coding languages and frameworks used by IT employers (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React, APIs, etc.) The training is project-based and led in an AGILE environment using workplace tools such as sprints, Confluence, Slack, Jira, GitHub, etc. With this solid knowledge, you will be able to

Create mobile and tablet responsive webpages

Create basic web applications

Problem solve, debug and fix issues

Apply Agile development protocols and use GitHub

Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC)

SOFT SKILLS TRAINING & CAREER PREPARATION:

You will enhance your study skills, teamwork, communication skills, and leadership skills. We also prepare you to enter the job market by helping you with portfolio building, career planning, labour market information, resume writing, employment search strategies, and interview skills.

As a result, you can explore employment opportunities in web development or application development or go on to learn other areas of programming such as animation and game design.

To make sure you're the right fit for our program, please take a look at our eligibility criteria.

You must:

Be between 17 and 29 years old

The participant must be a young adult between the ages of 17 and 29.

Be facing barriers to education and/or employment

The participant must have left high school, be at-risk of leaving high school, or have completed high school and is still facing educational and/or employment barriers or personal challenges.

Live in Ontario

The participant must live in the province of Ontario.

Be eligible to work in Canada

The participant must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or convention refugee, and be able to work in Canada.

Be a passionate learner

The participant must have an interest in coding/programming and be enthusiastic about learning.
