Our Values

Our Mission, Vision, and Values

Our Mission

To support and empower young people between the ages of 17-24, especially youth who have dropped out of high school. We plan to provide IT training and the tools necessary to find meaningful employment in the IT sector.

Our Vision

A world where underserved youth have a second chance at education and an opportunity to improve their quality of life by building a rewarding career in technology.

How we will achieve our vision

Currently, the employment rate for high school graduates in Ontario is 57.3%. Meanwhile, the employment rate for those without a high school diploma in Ontario has plummeted to a 20 year low of only 36.2%. At Code Youth, we strive to make a difference in the lives of those without a high school diploma. As a result, we plan to bridge the employment gap between young people through IT education and training.

The growing number of IT jobs in Ontario presents an invaluable opportunity for today’s youth. At Code Youth, we aim to provide undeserved youth with a free on-site training program that will allow them to qualify for entry-level positions in Ottawa’s technology sector. To ensure that our students receive quality training, we’re committed to developing a comprehensive curriculum, and we are gathering inputs from young people, youth-serving organizations, and tech companies.
